A Visit to the Goats

We thought it was time to go and see how the baby kids were growing and as the sun was shining the children decided this was a great idea!

When we arrived the older children were already there. Seeing Little Grange arriving the older children were very keen to tell us all about the goats and helped to answer the children’s questions.

“What do the goats eat?”

“Where do they sleep?”

“Why are they on strings?”

It was a lovely experience for all the Holme Grange pupils and shows what a super family we all are!

Learning in the Outdoor Environment

This afternoon we all went to the back field to use our number skills.

The children looked for items that they could collect and count.

this is how they decided to arrange the natural materials that they found!

DSCF0769 DSCF0770 First of all the children hunted for natural materials to count, they found crab apples, leaves , sticks and pine cones.

Then they decided to line the items up on the white painted field markings.

DSCF0775 DSCF0777 The counting began!

What a fabulous way to learn, we think we are very lucky!

Scarecrow Workshop Morning

Today the children in Reception came to join Little Grange for a scarecrow making activity.

With much excitement the children all enthusiastically sang the Dingle Dangle Scarecrow before a mixture of reception and Little Grange children went off with a teacher to plan their scarecrow.

There was much merriment and hustle and bustle as the children went about the important job of selecting items of clothing, newspaper, bubble wrap, masking tape, twine and straw.

The children used many of the Holme Grange Learning Habits and there was amazing team work between the children and teachers.
